The Isle of Man is a British Crown Dependency in the Irish Sea characterized by rolling hills, rugged coastlines, river valleys, and mountainous terrain in the interior.

📍 Isle of Man is a self-governing British Crown Dependency located in the Irish Sea between Great Britain and Ireland. While it is closely associated with the United Kingdom, it is not part of it and maintains its own parliament, legal system, and fiscal policies. The island sits roughly equidistant from England, Scotland, Ireland, and Wales, making it centrally positioned within the British Isles.
The Isle of Man’s landscape is diverse, featuring rolling hills, rugged coastlines, and open moorland. The island’s highest point, Snaefell, offers views of surrounding nations on clear days. Coastal cliffs, sandy bays, and glens shape much of the shoreline, while inland areas are characterized by green valleys and small farming communities. The climate is temperate and maritime, with relatively mild winters and cool summers.
Historically, the Isle of Man has been influenced by Celtic and Norse cultures, reflected in its heritage, traditions, and the Tynwald—one of the oldest continuous parliamentary bodies in the world. Its strategic location in the Irish Sea made it important for trade and maritime activity. Today, the island is known for its financial services sector, unique cultural identity, and the internationally famous Isle of Man TT motorcycle races.

What is an ISO Country Code?

ISO country codes come from the international standard ISO 3166 created by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). These codes are used globally in databases, aviation systems, banking, shipping, and international data systems to uniquely identify countries and territories.

ISO 3166-1 codes are the two-letter country codes such as US, FR, or JP. These are called Level-1 ISO codes.

Only ISO 3166-1 codes support flag emojis. Flag emojis are created by combining two Unicode regional indicator letters that match the country's ISO two-letter code.

ISO 3166-2 codes represent states, provinces, or regions. Example: US-AZ = Arizona CA-ON = Ontario Subdivision codes do not have flag emojis.
