Sint Maarten is a constituent country of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in the Caribbean Sea characterized by hilly terrain, tropical forests, lagoons, and sandy beaches along its coastlines.

📍 Sint Maarten is a Caribbean island country located in the northeastern Caribbean Sea, occupying the southern part of the island of Saint Martin. It shares a land border with the French overseas collectivity of Saint-Martin to the north, making it one of the smallest landmasses in the world divided between two nations. Sint Maarten is a constituent country of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and lies east of Puerto Rico.
Sint Maarten’s geography is characterized by a mix of coastal plains, lagoons, and low hills, with its highest point being Pic Paradis on the French side of the island. The territory covers about 34 square kilometers (13 square miles) and features numerous bays, sandy beaches, and inland salt ponds. Its coastline is varied, with both calm, sheltered waters and more exposed, rugged areas. The island’s tropical climate and scenic coastal landscape support a strong tourism industry, while its strategic location in the northeastern Caribbean has historically made it a hub for trade, travel, and cultural exchange.

What is an ISO Country Code?

ISO country codes come from the international standard ISO 3166 created by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). These codes are used worldwide in databases, aviation systems, banking, shipping, and international data systems to uniquely identify countries and territories.

ISO 3166-1 codes are the two-letter country codes such as US, FR, or JP. These are called Level-1 ISO codes.

Only ISO 3166-1 codes support flag emojis. Flag emojis are created by combining two Unicode regional indicator letters that match the country’s ISO two-letter code.

ISO 3166-2 codes represent states, provinces, or regions. Example: US-AZ = Arizona CA-ON = Ontario Subdivision codes do not have flag emojis.
