Tajikistan is a mountainous landlocked country in Central Asia characterized by the towering Pamir and Alay mountain ranges, high plateaus, and deep river valleys.

📍 Tajikistan is a landlocked country located in Central Asia, situated in a mountainous region of the continent. It is bordered by Kyrgyzstan to the north, China to the east, Afghanistan to the south, and Uzbekistan to the west.
Tajikistan’s terrain is dominated by mountains, with the Pamir range covering much of the country, earning it the nickname “Roof of the World.” The landscape includes high peaks, deep valleys, and glaciers. Rivers originating in these mountains are important for water resources and agriculture.
Tajikistan’s location along historic Silk Road routes has made it part of regional trade and cultural exchange between Central and South Asia.

What is an ISO Country Code?

ISO country codes come from the international standard ISO 3166 created by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). These codes are used worldwide in databases, aviation systems, banking, shipping, and international data systems to uniquely identify countries and territories.

ISO 3166-1 codes are the two-letter country codes such as US, FR, or JP. These are called Level-1 ISO codes.

Only ISO 3166-1 codes support flag emojis. Flag emojis are created by combining two Unicode regional indicator letters that match the country’s ISO two-letter code.

ISO 3166-2 codes represent states, provinces, or regions. Example: US-AZ = Arizona CA-ON = Ontario Subdivision codes do not have flag emojis.

No Motto:

As of 2026, the Republic of Tajikistan does not have an officially designated national motto, having moved away from the Soviet-era motto after gaining independence in 1991. The former Tajik Soviet Socialist Republic used the slogan "Proletarians of all nations, unite!".

Tajikistan National Anthem:

«Суруди Миллӣ»

(Translated from Tajik: "National Anthem")
