The Dominican Republic is a country on the island of Hispaniola in the Caribbean, characterized by mountainous terrain, fertile valleys, tropical forests, and coastlines along the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea.
๐ Dominican Republic is a country located in the Caribbean Sea, occupying the eastern portion of the island of Hispaniola in the Greater Antilles. It shares the island with Haiti to the west, and lies near Cuba to the northwest and Puerto Rico to the east.
The country has no other land borders beyond Haiti and is surrounded by the Caribbean Sea to the south and the Atlantic Ocean to the north.
The Dominican Republicโs terrain is diverse, featuring mountain ranges, fertile valleys, and coastal plains. It includes the highest peak in the Caribbean, Pico Duarte, as well as extensive beaches and river systems. Its location in the Caribbean has made it an important center for tourism, trade, and cultural exchange within the region.
