Yemen is a country on the southern Arabian Peninsula characterized by desert plains, rugged mountain ranges, highland plateaus, and coastlines along the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.
๐ Yemen is a country located in the Middle East in Western Asia, situated at the southern end of the Arabian Peninsula. It is bordered by Saudi Arabia to the north and Oman to the northeast, with coastlines along the Red Sea to the west and the Arabian Sea to the south.
Yemenโs landscape includes coastal plains, highlands, and mountains in the west, and desert regions in the east that extend into the Arabian Desert. The western highlands are more fertile and densely populated, benefiting from seasonal rainfall.
Yemenโs strategic location near the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, which connects the Red Sea to the Gulf of Aden, has historically made it an important center for trade and maritime routes between Africa, the Middle East, and Asia.
