Timor-Leste is a mountainous country in Southeast Asia occupying the eastern half of the island of Timor, characterized by rugged highlands, tropical forests, and coastlines along the Timor Sea.
๐ Timor-Leste (East Timor) is a country located in Southeast Asia, occupying the eastern half of the island of Timor in the Indonesian archipelago. It is bordered by Indonesia to the west and is surrounded by the Timor Sea to the south and the Banda Sea to the north. It also includes the exclave of Oecusse in the western part of the island, which is separated from the main territory by Indonesian land.
Timor-Lesteโs terrain is largely mountainous, with rugged highlands, steep slopes, and narrow coastal plains. The country has a tropical climate with distinct wet and dry seasons. Its location between Southeast Asia and the Pacific has historically made it part of regional trade routes and cultural exchange, while its geography has influenced settlement and development patterns.
