Senegal is a country in West Africa characterized by coastal plains along the Atlantic Ocean, savanna landscapes, river systems including the Senegal River, and the Cape Verde Peninsula.

๐Ÿ“ Senegal is a country located in West Africa, positioned along the Atlantic coast at the westernmost point of the African continent. It is bordered by Mauritania to the north, Mali to the east, and Guinea and Guinea-Bissau to the south, while it surrounds The Gambia almost entirely except for its Atlantic coastline. It has a coastline along the Atlantic Ocean to the west.
Senegalโ€™s landscape includes coastal plains, savannas, and river valleys, with the Senegal River forming part of its northern border. The country has a tropical climate with distinct wet and dry seasons.
Senegalโ€™s coastal location has historically made it a key center for trade, cultural exchange, and maritime activity in West Africa, particularly during trans-Atlantic trade periods.

What is an ISO Country Code?

ISO country codes come from the international standard ISO 3166 created by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). These codes are used worldwide in databases, aviation systems, banking, shipping, and international data systems to uniquely identify countries and territories.

ISO 3166-1 codes are the two-letter country codes such as US, FR, or JP. These are called Level-1 ISO codes.

Only ISO 3166-1 codes support flag emojis. Flag emojis are created by combining two Unicode regional indicator letters that match the countryโ€™s ISO two-letter code.

ISO 3166-2 codes represent states, provinces, or regions. Example: US-AZ = Arizona CA-ON = Ontario Subdivision codes do not have flag emojis.
