📍 Burkina Faso is a landlocked country located in West Africa, positioned in the interior of the region just south of the Sahara Desert. It is bordered by Mali to the north and northwest, Niger to the east, Benin to the southeast, Togo and Ghana to the south, and Ivory Coast to the southwest.
Burkina Faso’s terrain consists mainly of flat to gently rolling plains with some low hills and plateaus. The country lies within the Sahel region, characterized by a semi-arid climate with seasonal rainfall. Several rivers, including tributaries of the Volta River, run through the country, supporting agriculture in certain areas. Its inland location and position in the Sahel have influenced its economy, culture, and historical trade routes across West Africa.
