As an island nation, Singapore has no land borders and is surrounded by the Singapore Strait and the Strait of Johor. It consists of one main island and several smaller islets.
Singaporeโs terrain is mostly low-lying with some gentle hills, and much of the land has been modified through urban development and land reclamation. Its strategic location along one of the worldโs busiest shipping routesโthe Strait of Malaccaโhas made it a major global hub for trade, finance, and transportation.
