Afro-Eurasia
Afro-Eurasia
Also known as:
Afro-Eurasia is the largest continuous landmass on Earth, uniting Africa, Europe, and Asia into a single interconnected geographic region spanning primarily the Eastern Hemisphere. It is characterized by extraordinary physical and cultural diversity, including major mountain systems such as the Himalayas, the Alps, and the Atlas Mountains, vast deserts like the Sahara, Arabian, and Gobi, extensive river systems such as the Nile, Tigris-Euphrates, Indus, and Yangtze, and a wide range of climates from arctic to tropical. Afro-Eurasia is bordered by the Arctic Ocean to the north, the Atlantic Ocean to the west, the Pacific Ocean to the east, and the Indian Ocean to the south, and has been the central stage for the development of most of the world’s earliest civilizations, trade networks, and cultural exchange.
